Our goal is that every person that interacts with our brand feel uplifted and delighted. We revel in mixing simple nostalgia with a modern style of pretty-whimsy to create gifts that are lovingly made, from our hands and hearts to yours.
How is my order shipped?
Shipping methods vary based on the order. Cards are sent via USPS First Class Mail (depending on the quantity ordered) with confirmation number included. First Class Mail arrives within 2-4 business days after shipment. Prints and other items are sent via USPS Priority Mail, which includes insurance and tracking in the US. Turnaround time is approximately 2-4 business days via Priority Mail. For larger orders, FedEx or UPS will be utilized with tracking and insurance included. All prints will arrive in a sturdy flat mailer depending on the size of the print.
How is my order shipped?
Most international orders are shipped via First Class Mail International. Please keep in mind orders can take up to 3 weeks to arrive. For international orders shipped via USPS Priority Mail, shipping time is approximately 6-10 business days. Sometimes a package may get held in customs. This is beyond our control and we are unable to predict if a package will get held. For this reason, please allow up to 3 weeks for shipping time.
Am I responsible for customs and duties taxes?
Yes. Customers are responsible for any fees, taxes, and duties associated with purchasing & shipping to their respective countries.
Custom Chalk Art Requests
If I send you my favorite quote, lyric, etc. can you draw it for me?
I’m sorry, but due to the demands of licensing, designing and growing the Lily & Val product line Valerie is unable to accept any custom requests. We certainly wish there were more hours in a day!
Can you create a logo for my business?
Unfortunately, Lily & Val currently does not accept this type of work. There are many other artists that specialize in hand lettered branding and logo development that would be better suited to fill these needs.
Are your items customizable? Can I change the colors, add a name, or take out a certain word?
At this time, Lily & Val products are only available as pictured. We do hope you still find a design that resonates with you!
Do you offer framing?
The frames pictured in the listings are for styling inspiration only and are not included with the print. Although we do not currently offer framing, we do recommend a light or white colored frame. This makes the chalk art really pop. Barnwood frames (we love the ones available at Hobby Lobby) also add a nice, rustic touch.
How is the chalk sealed? Is it going to smudge in transit?
The best part about Lily & Val products is that they provide the realistic look of chalk art without the dust!! They will not smudge because you are not receiving real chalk. All of our products are printed to create an authentic look without the fear of smudging or ruining.
I really like this design, but I want to print it myself. Could you sell me the digital download?
The only designs available as digital downloads will be listed under the “digital downloads” section in the shop. If you are looking for some fun digital downloads I recommend WorldLabel.com. Valerie has designed a few sets for them and they are FREE!
How are your products manufactured?
We work closely with extremely talented printers and manufacturers that make Valerie's designs come to life on prints, cards, placemats, stickers, chalkboards, etc. All of our prints and note cards are proudly printed in the USA. We have a big heart for supporting small businesses like our own.
Who is Lily? Where did the name Lily & Val come from?
Lily is a nod to my mother. We both share a love of flowers, in particular, stargazer lilies! It is also a reference to Luke 12:27, a passage reminding us not to worry.
What type of chalk do you use?
I use Crayola Anti-Dust Chalk. It has a nice weight and beautiful vibrancy. In certain instances I will also use a white charcoal pencil.
What type of chalkboards do you use?
I have a large, commercial grade, classroom chalkboard in my studio that I use for more intricate designs. I also use smaller boards that are hand-made out of panel board (available at Home Depot or Lowes) and Rustoleum Chalkboard Spray paint. This provides a nice, smooth chalkboard writing surface.
Any advice for someone that wants to get started in chalk lettering?
I wrote a book about this subject! It's called "The Complete Book of Chalk Lettering: Create & Develop Your Own Style". I share all of my tips in the book and it even includes built-in chalkboards for practicing. Purchasing info available here.
Are your designs available for licensing?
Yes! I am represented by Jewel Branding & Licensing. Please direct licensing inquiries to Ilana Wilensky at firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you for considering my artwork!
Where can I find your free desktop downloads?
Every month we offer a new, free desktop and phone download that can be found on our blog, Lily & Val Living! View the archive here.
